“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the Church”
Ephesians 5:25
“We have a vocation crisis to life long, life-giving, loving, faithful marriage. If we take care of that one, we’ll have all the priests and nuns we need for the Church”
Archbishop Dolan
The Sacrament of Marriage is the foundation for the Christian family. Children first learn that “God is love” (1John 4:8) by experiencing and watching the love that exists between their mother and father; the home becomes a “little Church”. In keeping with God’s plan, the family becomes the basis for the life of the Church.
The love between a husband and wife reflects the love of Jesus Christ for His Church. Such love is permanent, life giving and faithful. Such love brings consolation in this life and helps us grow in holiness; such love is the key to Heaven. A husband is responsible for getting his wife to Heaven and a wife is responsible for getting her husband to Heaven. Together they pave the way for their children to lead truly happy lives, which gets them to Heaven as well.
Please take a few minutes to enjoy this wonderful production of the Knights of Columbus on the “Vocation to Marriage”. God Bless you.
